According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), there are around 1.8 billion young people aged 10 to 24 years in the world. Half a billion adolescent girls live in developing countries in the world. Moreover, one in three of them get married before they turn 18. This is according to statistics data from UNFPA.

Less than half of young men(43%) and women (41%) aged between 15 and 25 are involved in political or civic affairs in their communities. This data is according to research by the Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement. With so much youth leadership potential, they have to make more effort to get engaged and included in things happening around them.

6. 58% of youth volunteer to serve their community, while 33% were never engaged in any community serving volunteering actions.
According to research that studied 164 youth from 22 communities, only 58% reported they have volunteered to serve their community to some capacity. On the other hand, 33% of them reported that they never participated in any volunteering for their community.
